Time is Flying By!

In all honesty I don't remember a whole ton about what happened this past week. The exciting thing is that Arnulfo had his baptism interview and he passed! We changed his baptism date so he's getting baptized on Wednesday we hope. But that Satan is a fighter, so we are praying that everything will work out!

We received a referral this week as well from the English missionaries and we went, and it was some catholics, and we had a good conversation with them, and we'll be going back this week, so we are very excited! They are really nice!

On Friday our no car day, we asked one of our members if she wanted to go on a lesson with us and she was really nice, she stayed with us the whole day so we could get a lot more accomplished, and she took us every where, she is planning to get married soon though and she'll be moving out of state which is sad because we love her.

Yesterday we finally got one of our investigators and less-actives to come to church, it was awesome because the ward really fellow shipped them and they really liked it! It was awesome!

I don't really remember much more so sorry this is short, but next week should be exciting because we have zone conference, baptism, exchanges and a missionary fireside coming up! Well I love you all!

11 Months!!

Yes! it's crazy! 11 months ago I entered the Provo MTC! Time goes way fast, because I still feel like I was just in the MTC yesterday, but now here I am almost gone for a year, and I still have lots of work to do.

This week was really awesome! We committed Arnulfo to get baptized next Monday, during our P-day, we are soo excited for it to actually happen now, because Arnulfo is soo awesome! He's been ready since the day we met him back in October, and he is legit, he comes to church for sacrament and Sunday School, and then goes straight to work, and that is after getting off sometimes at like 2 in the morning the night before. He is way cool! We also had some awesome member lessons where we are finally starting to receive referrals from them, that means that they trust us. We are loving it! Also on Friday we rode the bus, and on the bus we found one of our potentials that we have been looking for, for several days now. She says she's confused about religion and learning more would confuse her more, which if she would just listen she wouldn't be confused anymore. We also met a less-active member from the English ward, and we had a good talk with him as well, it was a cool day for riding the bus, I am starting to realize why dad likes to ride the bus soo much. It is a good time to have conversations with people.

Yesterday we had stake conference which was awesome, we called our investigators that have never come to church yet to see if they were coming and they said yes, so we were driving there way super excited! But they never showed, I don't get it they are soo awesome, they love the Book of Mormon, but they just don't come to church. But Stake Conference was awesome, since I've been serving in the same stake the whole time, I got to see the members from my other areas there and they still remember me, it was soo fun! I loved it although my convert from Chino, wasn't there, but the sisters says he still goes to church weekly. But Stake Conference was cool because it was a broadcast, so we heard from, Elder Steven E. Snow, Elder Johnston, Sister Barbara Thompson, and Elder Perry, and I even understood almost everything, slowly but surely I'm getting there to fluent Spanish.

Well yup, it was a good week and another successful week is well on its way! I love you all lots!

A Week of Tender Mercies!

Well this week was pretty interesting! It was very good though as well! So this past week there was a training meeting in Arcadia, that some sisters were chosen to go to, but it was crazy because the day before the metting my companion and I were studying when the phone rings and we look to see that it is the AP's and we were nervous thinking it's only the first week of the transfer it can't be ET's but they just wanted us to be companions for the day with one of the sisters who wasn't going to the meeting. So it was really fun!

Then we were getting really nervous because one of our investigators Arnulfo who we have been trying to get a hold of all week, was next to impossible to contact he wouldn't return our calls or anything. So finally we thought well maybe he needs a break but we'll at least text to ask if he wants to come to church, and guess what? He came to church! It was exciting! It turns out he had been sick and working a lot, so luckily we didn't lose him.

Another investigator we had also seemed to be losing interest during our lessons, and after saying they would come to church, didn't show up again, but we went over yesterday, and had a great lesson with him so everything is going well with him still.

Also this week both me and Hna. Mulitalo got the cold, so it was challenging to do the work but still pushing through. So we went one day to check on some formers who live in the same apartment complex as our investigators Nery and Estela, and while we were there they saw us and invited us to come eat, chicken soup, but it was chicken feet soup. We were nervous, but chicken feet really isn't that bad, and it did make me feel better, also while we were over there we went into the laundry room with them, where we met a lady who happens to be very confused about religion right now, and so it's prime for us, we still have yet to find her at home again, but I don't think it was a coincidence that we met her there.

Also we rode the bus on friday! It was fun! But we were very nervous since we never have before, we were hoping we wouldn't miss it that we would have the right amount of money, and get on the right bus, it took us 2 buses to get where we were going but it worked out fine, so it was pretty awesome, and we got to our appointment right on time, so that was very lucky. It was a fun and adventurous day.

This week was very exciting full of miracles and pleasant surprises. It really is true that the lord know and loves each one of us individually, and he knows what his children need, and when he put our faith in him all things are possible! I am so grateful for this mission and the things I am learning here. It's a great experience!

Hope all is well with you all and Happy martin luther king day yesterday, at least I think that's what Holiday it was,

Happy 2012!

Well since all the libraries were closed yesterday for the new year we get to email today instead of yesterday, and the last week of December went zooming by, so fast I can't even remember really what happened. We rode our bikes one day last week, and speaking of which we now have a scheduled bike day starting this week, we must ride our bikes on Fridays, that will be interesting because our area is ginormous. Oh yeah! I'm still in Rimgrove but not in a trio anymore, Sister Taylor left to the complete other side of the mission to open a new sisters area, and Hermana Mulitalo and I will be staying here together for at least another transfer, so it should be good because I love Rimgrove. Plus I don't have to sleep on the floor anymore, although it was really comfy.

Here is a story that Dad will love! This past week we went to a recent converts and we showed her a movie about families because she is about to become a mom, well she decided we should have a snack while we watch. Guess what it was? CUCUMBERS!! with CHILI on it too of course my 2 favorite things. I luckily got away with only eating 2 slices.

We also had some awesome lessons about goals with our members, and less-actives this year....and one of our less-actives came to church yesterday! We were sooo excited!

We had a language training this week as well which helped a lot so that we can make our studies more effective I was really excited about it.

Then the end of the week came and it was new years eve, the day of transfer calls and, now suddenly it is Tuesday, this week and weekend flew by! Also I feel a little weird because now it's 2012 I will be home this year, and so that is weird because I just barely got to the MTC it feels like, and their is a lot of work to do, especially since our mission vision for the Spanish missionaries is to baptize weekly! It's going to happen! I can feel it coming. Already we have contacted some promising people, so we are soo lucky!

Well I hope you all had a great new years, and you have a vision of your 2012 this year! I love you all and I pray for you each! I'm so very grateful for this gospel and for the chance that I have to be here and serving the Lord full time! This is a great work, and I challenge of you to pray for some awesome missionary experiences this year because their is nothing better than helping others receive the restored gospel. I love you all!

Merry Christmas

Well I hope you all had the best Christmas ever this year! I don't have too much to say being as I just talked to everyone 2 days ago. But here I go anyway! So this past week was very good and filled of Christmas cheer, this week we spent one of our nights caroling with the elders in our district so some members in our area it was really fun, from having dogs attacking us to singing the wrong tune to a song, to just being able to make peoples days.

We also rode our bikes last week, and that was fun! At one point we felt like a biker gang because their were tons of bikers near us going a long with us, it was funny! it was a good experience! Biking days are always soo funny!

We also got a new investigator this week Her name is Maritza, and she is really awesome! She has problems with Joseph Smith, but she is ready to listen, I feel like we will definitely be getting baptismal dates this week, so it's really exciting! We also still have Nery and Estela, who are doing as good as ever, they even came to a noche de hogar with us at a less-actives house yesterday!

Our Christmas Eve was great! However everyone wanted to feed us, but it was fun, we felt a part of a family everywhere we went! Then on Christmas the elders had a baptism and we went, and my companion who only kind of knows how to play the piano, played anyway because they asked her too, I was so proud of her, and felt bad that I didn't take piano lessons more seriously!

Yup, so that was our week, and on new years eve we will be getting transfer calls and will be having transfers on Monday, so we'll see what happens for the new year.
Happy New years!!!

Merry Christmas!!.... Almost!!

Hello all!

Well this week was an eventful one, this past Tuesday we had interviews with the President, and boy President Becerra is so cool, such an inspired man it went well, I was interviewed first of my companions and then by the time Sister Taylor who was last came out, he had told her that we are the happiest trio in the history of the mission! That made me feel so privileged and awesome to be able to be a part of that, so pretty much we are really lucky, it's amazing how well we get along because we are all so very different, but we have the same goal in mind! Also a new missionary came this week to our district, it's the middle of a transfer, so it was really random, but he has been here before once I guess and now he's back, and the elder training him found out the day before that he was coming, so that was different.

Also we had our like 8 hour talent show on Wednesday, it was a nice break, but very long, our district did the EFY medley in Spanish, and being the procrastinators we are we only practiced once with the piano right before the show started. The funny part is me and my companions practiced a lot on our own, and the elders did not, however, when we did it we messed up and the elders did awesome, so that was way funny! Also my companions and I did this dance with a bunch of the English missionaries, and it was random and embarrassing, but there were a lot of weirder talents so I don't feel too bad about it.

We had a very cultural experience at our ward Christmas party this past week, the Hermanas in the Relief Society did some dances, one was about these old men or something with creepy masks on, they also told jokes that made no sense, because we don't know Spanish that well, but it was fun anyway.

That's the exciting things going on in the mission life right now, it's fun, I love the mission more and more everyday, that I get to go out and tell people that I know that Christ is our Savior and Redeemer, that our Heavenly Father knows and loves each of us, That we have a prophet on the earth today, That the Book of Mormon is true. I love that we can tell them that we know the way back to God! This is something so special to me, and I am grateful for the chance I have to be here helping people to know what we all know!

I love you all! I hope you have a merry Christmas and I'll be talking to you next week Family!

My 2nd Exchanges!

well this week was a good one, we had quite a few lessons this week, the main one was with a less-active, we invited him to a tour of the church, because he has been less-active for a REALLY LONG time so we decided to take him on the tour, and during the tour he opened up to us to why he isn't coming, because he doesn't remember it anymore and he spends time with his family. It went really well even though he didn't come to church, but the tour was a big step for him.

We also have been trying as a district to get our ward more unified, because they currently are not, but we are helping them to get that way, I'm really excited for that to change!

Probably the most eventful time this week was exchanges, we had exchanges on Saturday and that was really fun! Hermana Taylor went to Chino with Hermana Cruz (my MTC companion) and then her companion Hermana Brown (who has only been here 3 weeks came with me and Hermana Mulitalo. I drove for the day, and since I usually don't drive funny things happened including getting semi-lost, and the big thing is we came home for Lunch and well we walked out the door, and I had locked it, and just as I shut the door I realized the keys were on my desk, luckily this has happened before, so we opened the window and climbed through and got the keys. That was lucky! We also got to go to a Christmas concert at the stake center, It was really good, and made it sort of feel like Christmas, so that was way cool! It was a way fun exchange and a good learning experience!

This week we have President interviews this week, and the missionary Christmas talent show party, no one signed up to begin with so then President said he wanted everyone to be in it, so our district decided we would do it together and we'll be singing the EFY medley in Spanish, I don't know how it will go we just threw it together, but I'm excited to see the talents of the other missionaries. I'll let you know how it goes!

Well that's pretty much it! Hope all is well! and your enjoying all the snow back home, we just get rain!
